My name is Marie Clapton and im a Lyricist from Abingdon in Oxfordshire
I first started writing back in 2009. Closure was the first song I wrote and its about the end of a relationship how the girl is finding it hard to move on from her ex.
I sent my lyrics off to the UK Songwriting Contest to see how well my song would do and quite surprised to become a Semi Finalist in the Lyrics Only Category
I then went on to send lyrics to Closure off to Scamp Studio to put music to my lyrics, and entered again into the Pop Category in 2011
The song received Semi Finalist yet again making me start to believe more in myself. So in the end I enterted more lyrics and music.

I teamed up with Songwriter Dave Hutchinson who I started talking to on Twitter and he started to work on my second song I wrote called "Outta Control" a song about going out and having a good time in a nightclub.
The Song was played on BBC Upload Oxfordshire in 2020
Outta Control was released in 2021 and is a collaboration with Dave,Chris McCarthy,Giovanni Delangio and vocals by Stacy Roxx.
